A Superb William Birch luggage stand. Made from fruitwood, with slatted rungs all raised on hand turned legs. The initials W.B (William Birch) is stamped on one of the rungs. C1900

William Birch Ltd. was a renowned chair maker, cabinet maker, and upholsterer based in High Wycombe and London, operating from around 1840 until 1954. Starting as specialist chair makers, the company grew steadily, employing over 50 workers by the late 19th century and expanding into finely crafted cabinets and other fine furniture.

This beautiful luggage stand is in very good original condition, would make a lovely display piece or used in the hallway.
