A Beautiful Victorian cut glass crystal pedestal bowl. Hand made from cut crystal, with a diamond cut design, set on a square pedestal foot. C1890
Victorian-era crystal bowls, unlike modern “singing bowls,” are a category of decorative or functional glassware popular in the 19th century, and their history is tied to the industrialization of glassmaking. These are distinct from the modern quartz crystal singing bowls that emerged in the late 1980s. Victorian glass bowls include highly ornate, molded, or cut glass pieces like decorative rose bowls, often made from lead crystal, and were mass-produced in England and other countries.
This is a very high quality handmade bowl, does show traces of age, with a very small chip on the underside of the base and a very tiny chip on the lip, but this does not take away how lovely this bowl really is, would make a lovely gift, Ideal as a centre piece, punch bowl or decorative piece.
