A Fantastic 19th Century Oak Cheese Press Tub, circular free standing oak cheese press, which were weighted down with a heavy stone or smaller stones in a wooden box. Cheese presses of differing sizes and designs were used to expand the whey with pressure and allow the curds to consolidate. The piece has a pleasing colour, grain and retains a patination, a great item of rustic social history.
