Antique Sumerling & Co Sack Scales

A rare set of Sumerling & Co Ltd sack scales. These scales are in antique condition, made from cast iron, with the weights to the top of the scales, and a brass sliders, a guarded sack basket to the base of the scales, still retaining the green paint and makers name hand painted on the name plate. “Summering & Co Ltd Old Street EC1”. C1900 

Sumerling & Co was a historical manufacturer of catering and kitchen equipment located on Old Street, London, operating primarily in the late 19th and early-to-mid 20th centuries. The company is no longer in business, and the premises were damaged by bombing during World War II.
