NSWR Brass Train Carriage Luggage Rack

£525.00

A Superb NSWR Brass Carriage Luggage Rack. Made from Brass, with a wire netting rack for holding luggage, hats or coats, complete with wall mounting fixings, the side arms have ‘NSWR’. C1920

On 26 September 1855, the first passenger railway line in NSW opened from Sydney to ‘Parramatta Junction’, which was located just west of present day Granville Railway Station.

This beautiful luggage has brass wire netting, which his unusual as most were made from rope. This rack has been polished to showcase the lovely brass. Originally these would have been mounted above your seat in the train carriage to hold personal belongings.

This luggage rack is in superb condition and would make a lovely rack for the hallway or used in the kitchen to hold pots, pans and kitchen utensils. A really lovely piece of locomotive history.
