This Rare Victorian Gladstone Dentist Bag by H. Greaves, New St. Birmingham, is made from beautiful Crocodile Skin in a chestnut colour, has a strong leather carrying handle, nickel fixings & lock, the case opens to reveal a green canvas & leather interior, it comes complete with a Ruby Glass Advertising Plaque for C.C.Marston L.D.S. Surgeon Dentist, possibly owned by the dentist who worked for them as they came together, both dating to the late Victorian period. This case is in exceptional condition for its age as is the Ruby Glass plaque, these two items would make a great conversational piece. C1900. (Price does not include P&P)
‘Greaves Ltd. Birmingham’. H. Greaves of 35 & 36 New Street, Birmingham were established in 1720 and they were luggage makers to the Royal family and they were later known as H.Greaves Ltd. Gladstone bags are named after the 19th cent British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone.
