Victorian Peal & Co Leather Boot Trunk (SOLD)

A Superb Full English Leather Boot Trunk By Peal & Co London. Beautifully Made from English Leather Hide, this wonderful trunk comes with bags of charm and the perfect amount of age over the leather that give the piece a real authenticity. The outer edge of the lid has the makers mark ‘ Peal & Co’ 487 Oxford Street S1 London. With a heavy-duty brass lock, the inside contains the original pinstripe lining and straps, complete with the top boot tray & riding boots, the lid has a lovely pair of boot pulls. Its large size makes the uses for this antique, endless. C1880

Very few rare and delightful examples of well-patinated, top quality, hand stitched cowhide luggage produced by Peal & Co have survived, which makes this boot trunks desirable and collectable.
