A Superb Full English Leather Boot Trunk By Peal & Co London. Beautifully Made from English Leather Hide, this wonderful trunk comes with bags of charm and the perfect amount of age over the leather that give the piece a real authenticity. The outer edge of the lid has the makers mark ‘ Peal & Co’ 487 Oxford Street S1 London. With a heavy-duty brass lock, the inside contains the original pinstripe lining and straps. Its large size makes the uses for this antique, endless. C1880

The Name stamped on the top of the trunk is (J.De.B Tindall Lucas). John de Blaquiere Tindall Lucas was born on 8 January 1888, during his military career he was awarded the Military Cross.

Peal Co were famous for advertising as a retail boot and shoe makers, and are Royal Warrant Holders as a boot makers in the second decade of the 20th Century. 

A very few rare and delightful examples of well-patinated, top quality, hand stitched cowhide luggage produced by Peal & Co have survived, which makes this boot trunks desirable and collectable.

This boot trunk will add character to any home used either as storage, or as a rustic coffee table, being this versatile this can be used for any kind of storage and would not look out of place in any home, or as a fantastic shop display piece.
