Vintage Kendo Bogu & Training Swords Set

A Superb complete Kendo Bogu and training swords. Made in Japan, comprises of, Men (Head & Face) Do (Torso) Kote (Hands & forearms) Tare (Waist & groin) Hakama (pleated lower garment) also has Keikogi (Jacket). Complete with Shinai: A four-slat bamboo training sword bound with leather and a string (tsuru), designed to bend and absorb impact during full-contact sparring & Bokutō (or Bokken): A solid wooden sword used primarily for non-contact paired form practice (kata) and technical drills. C1970

The word Kendo (“the way of the sword”) is a modern Japanese martial art that evolved directly from traditional samurai swordsmanship and kenjutsu. 

This amazing piece of sporting history comes complete with the stand, this Kendo suit has been kept as a display piece and remains in original condition, may show some signs of use due to age, but this does not take away how impressive this Bogu set really looks. A great set to own, can be used for purpose or as a display piece. (Dimensions from top of head to bottom of the jacket, not the stand size large BB)
