Vintage Pukka Military WWII Demob Case For Harrods

An Original Pukka Military Demob Case. Made from Canvas with leather corners and handle and original brass locks. The makers plaque Pukka Luggage No 21161 is displayed to the front of the case. C1930’s 

This Suitcase does not have a key, the interior remains original, does show signs of age, retaining the blue leather Pukka label on the underside of the lid along with the Harrods Ltd London SW who were the original retailers, and still sell Pukka luggage to this day..

Pukka Luggage was a prestigious British brand from 1909 to the late 1950s, known for its handmade, high-quality luggage like trunks and suitcases. It was especially popular during the interwar years and was sold exclusively through high-end retailers like Harrods and the Army & Navy Stores. 

A “de mob” military case likely refers to a demobilisation suitcase, a piece of luggage issued to British servicemen and women after World War II to carry their civilian clothes. It could also refer to a general clothing bag or other carrying case used during the process of demobilisation, which involved releasing military personnel back into civilian life.

Would make a great addition to any collection or as a display piece.
