Regency Octagonal Oak William Morris & Co Drum Table

A Superb William Morris & Co Oak Table. Made from English Oak, this Octagonal table has an 8 sided top, with 6 pull out drawers, all set on hipped stiff down-swept legs capped with original brass castors. C1810

William Morris & Co. furniture history began in 1861 with Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co., founded to create handcrafted, beautiful home furnishings, contrasting mass production with Arts & Crafts ideals. Initially focused on murals and textiles, the company expanded to include simple, traditional designs like the famous rush-seated Sussex Chair, becoming known for solid, well-made items that brought artistry to everyday life and influenced interior design well into the 20th century before the original firm closed in 1940, leaving a legacy of iconic patterns and furniture styles.
