Vintage Dudley & Co Haberdashery Shop Display Cabinet

Absolutely Superb Vintage Dudley & Co Haberdashery shop/display cabinet, comprising of 16 glass fronted drawers and 2 sliding doors with storage space to the base. Made from Beech, all the drawers have the original metal handles and glass, with its beautiful rich honey colour and grain which has been waxed to showcase this beautiful piece. The makers label sits above the drawers “Dudley & Co shoplifters Holloway London’. C1940

Dudley & Co, The company operated on Holloway Road as early as the 1880s, producing high-quality chromolithographs, such as a Guildhall banquet invitation for the Lord Mayor in 1883. By the mid-20th century, the company had cemented its reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-end haberdashery and drapers’ display cabinets. 

A haberdashery cabinet is a specialised storage unit originally used by tailors, drapers, and seamstresses to organise and display clothing accessories and sewing supplies. Most produced during the early-to-mid 20th century, they are renowned for their utilitarian design, featuring multiple glazed drawers and drop-down fronts.

This haberdashery is in great vintage condition. The drawers open and shut smoothly, a fabulous piece of vintage furniture in very high demand right now. There has been some restoration to some of the drawer fronts but this does not affect the workings of this lovely cabinet (Internal Dimensions Glass drawers H: 12cm W: 25cm D: 44cm)
